Laura Richardson Obituary
Laura is survived by her mother, Margie Hess; sons, Cody Richardson of Bluford and Dameon Kyle Lewis of Mount Vernon, Illinois; grandchildren, Jazzmine and Elijah; brothers, George Hess of Mount Vernon and Martin Hess of Ohio; and former husband, Dennis Richardson of Bluford.
Laura was preceded in death by her father, George Hess.
Mom was a fighter. She never got a fair shake in life when it came to health, but she never let that stop her. She beat cancer, but in the end her mortal body let her down. Her health never stopped her from doing what she loved: watching NASCAR every Sunday, sitting out on the front porch and trying to honor God in everything that she did. She made an impact on everyone that ever knew her, and she will be greatly missed.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Thursday, October 2, 2025 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. A Memorial Service will begin at 1:00 pm.
