Laura L. Thalacker

Laura L. Thalacker, age 96 of Rochester, was called home to be with Jesus on Saturday, August 12th 2023.
Born in Eau Claire Wisconsin as the first of three children, growing up on the family farm and attending school and church in Fall Creek, Wisconsin. Laura married Gerald at age 21 and started her family of 4 boys. The couple lived in Colorado, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. They wintered in SC and TX.
Laura enjoyed traveling, bird watching, gardening, walking and spending time with her family, and pet dogs.
She is survived by her sons, Gary (Marcy) of Hertel, WI, Steve (Sue) of Rochester, MN, Mark of Roberts, WI, and Gerry (Magaly) of Lake Wylie, SC; seven grandchildren, Heather, Hilary, Heidi, Scott, Erika, Gabby; sisters in-law, Gladys, Joan, Bonnie; brothers in-law, Neil, Bruce, Gene Dehlin; and nine great-grandchildren; Brendan, Brooklyn, Ethan, Lauren, Gavin, Hailey, Morgan, Paxton, and Everleigh.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Emma; husband Gerald; brothers, Paul and Ewald; and grandson Nick; brothers in-law, Gene, James, Kent, Gail; sisters in-law, Sharon, and Bobette; brothers in-law, Mitch, Melly.
A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 17, 2023, in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with Pastor Byron Meline officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, Wisconsin.
