Born on August 24th, 1939 in Massachusetts, Laureen was the daughter of the late Ann Connors. She was a beloved salon owner of The Cut Away for over 40 years. Known to most as "Mema", she considered everyone she knew, family. Mema enjoyed trips to the casino and for the last 24 years camped every weekend at Holly Tree Campground in Ashaway, Rhode Island.
Laureen is survived by her loving daughter, Sheila M. Gleifert and her fiancé Jacques Brochu, her grandchildren Michael Van Steenburgh, David Van Steenburgh and his wife Nicole, Nicholas Gleifert, Kathryn Ortiz and her husband Julian, and seven great grandchildren who she loved very much. In addition to her mother, Laureen was predeceased by her husband Louis Verdura, her daughter Judith Mackin Regina and her son-in-law, Kenneth Gleifert.
Her family would like to thank the compassionate and hardworking staff at St. Francis Hospital for everything they did for Mema and her family. Services will be determined at a later date.
