Laurel Jean Benson

I have run across many people in my life who have no idea where cities, states, even countries are. I always say, well, it's obvious you didn't have Laurel Benson as a teacher. I did, and she instilled a love of traveling, map reading and the wonders of the world in me. She was without a doubt one of the best teachers ever. I am so happy to have had her for fifth grade at Mary Blair. I would go on to become a private pilot also and I can see where she would have loved that. I also sold her books, which I was always proud to tell people, yeah, I know the author! She was a truly wonderful person and will be missed.
