Laurel A. Holmes, 84, loving wife of Charles E. Holmes; devoted mother of Matthew (Mary Ann Karwowski) Holmes, Amy Holmes, and Timothy (Kirsten) Holmes; cherished grandmother of Charles F. Holmes, Trey Holmes, and Seth Holmes.
Laurel was a lifetime Chicago resident who was an avid reader. Anything in the “mystery” category could always be found in the large stacks of books she’d leave the library with. She would spend her free time reading, watching WTTW, and of course spending quality time with her husband and loving family. She will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home, 4800 N. Austin Ave., Chicago, IL 60630.
The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at 11 a.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Procession to Acacia Park Cemetery for interment.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Paws Chicago in Laurel’s memory.
