Laurence "Larry" Michael Lambert, 60, passed peacefully in his sleep Saturday, July 27, 2024, at his home.
Public viewing will be from 12:00 noon, until 8:00 PM Friday, August 2, 2024, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 3, 2024, at First Christian Church, 29 N. Oakes St. San Angelo, Texas 76903. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Larry was born February 11, 1964, in Libya, Africa. He lived most of his life in San Angelo. He began his culinary career at the young age of fifteen, as a hardworking dishwasher at Angelo State University. Five years after starting his first job he was promoted to the Kitchen/Cafeteria Manager. After four years in the position, he moved to St. John's Hospital and became the Associate Director of Food and Nutrition Services. Larry continuously set and accomplished goals to further his career. Larry graduated from Canyon College with his Bachelor of Science degree and worked hard to achieve his most current position of Food and Nutrition Director at Shannon Medical Center. Certifications include but are not limited to, Certified Executive Chef, Certified Dietary Manager, Certified Food Protection Professional. He proudly dedicated thirty-five years to the Shannon Medical Center Food and Nutrition Services.
Larry enjoyed nothing more than sharing his love for food. Some of his happiest times were grilling for family and friends, or catering events throughout the San Angelo community. He also enjoyed gardening and relaxing in his backyard.
Larry is survived by his wife, Melinda Lambert; and his three children, Erica Lambert and husband Adam, Lauren Lambert and husband Tyvon, Michael Castro and partner Meagan Green; one grandchild, Isla; two brothers, Mark Lambert and Leonard Lambert, and their respective families. He is preceded in his death by his father, Leonard Lambert; and a sister, Priscilla Lambert.
The family would like to thank the Shannon Medical Center family, Dale Droll, Staci and Brady Wetz, the First Christian Church and so many more.
