Lauretta Ayers Obituary
Lauretta was born on August 26, 1937, in Pueblo, Colorado, to Charles Floyd Hastings and Ada Lillian Runge. While working as a carhop at A&W Root Beer in Pueblo, she met the love of her life, Warren Ayers. The two were married on November 19, 1956, in Pueblo, Colorado, and together they shared a beautiful life built on love, laughter, and devotion to family.
Lauretta found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved sewing, gardening, and baking, and her home was always filled with warmth and the comforting smell of something delicious in the oven. She cherished her time at the Baxter Curren Senior Center, where she made many dear friends through bingo, dancing, and good conversation. Always ready for adventure, Lauretta enjoyed traveling, visiting casinos, and playing poker - her bright smile and fun-loving spirit lit up every room she entered.
She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Russell of the home; grandchildren Tara Davis of Perryton, TX, Crystal Carroll (Nick) of Haines City, FL, and Tonya Russell of Perryton, TX; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Each of them will forever carry her love and memory in their hearts.
Lauretta was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Ayers; her parents, Charles Floyd Hastings and Ada Lillian Runge; her son, Steven Ayers; her grandson, Brett Davis; three brothers; and one sister.
Lauretta will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. Her warmth, strength, and laughter will live on through the family she loved so dearly.
