It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lauretta Sue Long, who left us on March 13, 2026, in Grapevine, Texas. Born on July 16, 1946, in Winfield, Alabama, Lauretta graced this world with her kind and welcoming spirit, always making those around her feel at ease through her genuine warmth and compassion.

Lauretta lived a life defined by love and dedication. As a devoted homemaker, she poured her heart into creating a nurturing and joyful home for her family. Her deep love for her family was evident to all who knew her, and she cherished every moment spent with them. One of her greatest joys was traveling with her loved ones, especially to the beach—a place where laughter and memories blossomed under the sun.

Her personality radiated kindness, and her presence was a source of comfort and peace to friends and family alike. Lauretta’s ability to make others feel welcomed and valued was a testament to the beautiful soul she carried throughout her life.

She is lovingly remembered by her son, Scott Long (spouse – Emily), and her daughter, Andrea Alderson (spouse – Michael). Her grandchildren—Cassidy Anderson (spouse – Wes), Chloe Byars (spouse – Daniel), and Carter Alderson—carry forward her legacy of love and joy, as do her great-grandchildren, Ryker Anderson and Greyson Anderson, who brought her immense happiness and pride.

Lauretta was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Flora Carter and Charlie Cutts, Jr., and her brother, Gary Cutts, whose memories she held close throughout her life.

Private family services will be held in the future.

Though she has departed from this world, Lauretta’s spirit endures in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of kindness, joy, and unwavering love will forever illuminate the lives she touched.
