Lauretta Garrett Wexler, wife, mother and grammy, went to be with her Savior on January 22, 2026, at age 86. She was born on August 18, 1939, in
Pensacola, FL. She is now reunited with loved ones in the presence of Jesus, leaving behind a legacy of love and faith. She is proceeded in death by her husband Harry Wexler, parents Artley and Etta Mae Garrett, her sister Gloria Garrett Bansemer, and grandson Christopher Mayes.
She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Michael Watts, her brother Robert (Bob) Garrett and wife Judy, her daughter, Angela Hill and husband Wayne, her son, Stuart Campbell and wife Suzan, stepdaughter Missy Tilghman, and husband Matt, stepdaughter Mandy Jackson and husband Heath, grandchildren Lindsay Henderson and husband Bryan, Justin Hill and wife Kim, Travis Hill and wife Cassie, Tarah Hill, Don and Randy Campbell, Jessica Frady, and husband Shawn, Jarick Rivers, and wife Tamara, Sara Kate and Hannah Tilghman, Lucy, Josh and Joey Jackson and his fiancé Katie, and 16 great-grandchildren as well as numerous extended family members.
After completing her nursing degree at Pensacola Junior College, she worked in the hospital sector for a few years and then settled into private practice as a nurse with Dr. Tarar in
Crestview, FL. When Dr. Tarar retired, Lauretta moved to
San Diego, CA in the early 1980's to be near her sister, Gloria and worked as a paralegal. After meeting her husband Harry in 1985, she retired from the workforce.
After Harry's death in 2000, Lauretta met Micheal at church in 2007 and married in 2008. She was very active in their church and led the Celebrate Recovery women's group for many years. They made their home in San Diego until 2020, then moved to
Magnolia, TX to be near their children.
Lauretta's love for her dogs, Bailey, Bernie and Suzy, and really all dogs, was the bright spot in her life. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name to a favorite dog rescue agency.
Funeral services will be held Saturday February 7, 2026, with visitation at 1PM followed by the funeral service at 2 PM at Klein Funeral Home Chapel, located at 14711 FM 1488,
Magnolia, TX 77354, interment to follow at Klein Memorial Park. Pastor Steve Burrell, of Magnolia Bible Church, will be officiating.
