Lauretteann "Hillis" Pierson

Lauretteann Pierson, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025, at the age of 85. She was born on September 11, 1940, in Brooklyn, NY, and throughout her life she touched the hearts of all who knew her.

Family and friends are invited to gather for services to honor Lauretteann's life at Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A., 313 Talbott Ave, Laurel, MD 20707. Viewing will be held on Friday, September 26, from 3–5 pm and 7–9 pm, followed by a Chapel Service on Saturday, September 27, at 10 am. Friends and family are invited to attend and celebrate her remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society.

She was predeceased by her husband of 39 years, Michael Anthony Pierson, her parents Sophie "Sally" Hillis and Frank Albrecht Hillis, and her brother William "Bill" Hillis. She is survived by her sons Michael Pierson (Dianna) and Paul Pierson; grandchildren Finn Pierson, Wesley Pierson (Aurelie), Grant Pierson, and Joshua Pierson; and great-grandchild Robin Alexander-Pierson.

Lauretteann will be remembered for her generous spirit, warm smile, and deep devotion to her family. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Odenton, MD, where she found joy in both her faith and her community. She loved to travel and especially enjoyed knitting and crocheting with the church's arts and crafts group. She brought joy to every gathering and compassion to every relationship. Her legacy lives on in the memories she leaves behind.

Though she has left this world, the example she set and the love she gave will continue to guide those she cherished most.

Lauretteann's life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and her presence will be deeply missed. May she rest in eternal peace.
