Laurie Marston Obituary

Laurie Ann (Mayhew) Marston
Born: May 7, 1959 in Phillipsburg, KS
Died: October 25, 2025 in Plainfield, IL
Laurie Marston, 66, died from a long history of medical complications on Oct 25, 2025 in Aurora, IL (living in Plainfield, IL).
Laurie was born on May 7, 1959 to John and Dorothy Mayhew in Phillipsburg, KS and was one of three children - brother Jerry Mayhew (Andover, KS) and sister Linda Beckman (McPherson, KS).
Laurie attended school and graduated high school in Phillipsburg. Upon graduation, she attended and graduated from Wichita State University with a Master of Arts degree in Music Education. Following college, she taught high school music and piano for multiple years.
Laurie met and married Brent Marston during college. This union was on July 5, 1980 and produced one child. Son Joshua Marston lives in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam with his wife Nguyen Thi Ha (Ha) and son Phong Nguyen Marston.
A Celebration of Life service was held at The Compass Church in Naperville, IL on November 5, 2025. Laurie was cremated, with a graveside service next to her parents in Fairview Cemetery (Phillipsburg) expected during January 2026.
Laurie loved music - playing piano, flute and singing through most of her life.
We praise God that she is now again able to walk, run, laugh, play piano and sing with her mom, aunts and relatives. That she is forever free of pain, being the musician again that she was born to be.
Always in our hearts and prayers - until we are together again.
