Laurin Garvey Cooper Balkam (Age 96)
Laurin Balkam passed away peacefully on Friday, October 5, 2018 in Rockville, MD. Beloved wife of 76 years to the late Robert Balkam. Loving mother of eight children, Cliff (Jane) Balkam, Ellen (Bob) Lent, Julie (Jack) Koczela, Stephen (Jan) Balkam, Ruth (Ralph) Chite, Teresa (David) Dickinson, Danny (Sharon) Balkam, and Grace (Greg) O'Brien. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Raphael's Catholic Church, 1513 Dunster Rd., Rockville, MD 20854 on Friday, October 19, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Inurnment at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Laurin's name may be made to the Ingleside at King Farm Employee Appreciation Fund, 701 King Farm Blvd., Rockville, MD 20850; or the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601 (www.alz.org).

TO THE FAMILY Although I did not know Laurin, I just wanted to tell family and friends how sorry I am for their loss, please accept my deepest sympathy. Please know that your family will be in my prayers 2nd Corinthians 1:3,4.
