LaVerne Henry Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home & Crematory on Dec. 9, 2025.
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of LaVerne M. Henry, who left this world on December 3, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on September 16, 1934, in Cincinnati, Ohio, LaVerne was a cherished member of her family, known for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering spirit.

LaVerne lived a life filled with love and laughter, married to her high school sweetheart, James Henry, for an incredible 73 years. Together, they raised a family that symbolizes strength and devotion. She is survived by her loving husband, James; her children, Connie (Paul) Bittner, Kim (Dale) Scheidt, Ed (Peggy) Henry, and Becky (Willy) Pittman; her sister, Arlene Lonaker; as well as her adoring grandchildren: Ryan (Serena) Amlingmeier, Jena Bittner, Tara (Dion) Jones, Eric (Tracy) Scheidt, Brad Scheidt, Ashley (Brennan) Croy, Kevin (Amy) Henry, Keith (Samantha) Henry, Randy (Danielle Kuhn) Henry, and Matthew Pittman.

LaVerne was preceded in death by her son, Jamie Henry, her parents, John and Lillian Koebbe and 16 of her 17 siblings.

A proud mother, grandmother, and great grandmother LaVerne embraced her family with open arms and a generous heart. She loved angels and believed "every child is God's child". Known for her love of bingo, casinos, boating and camping in Brookville, Indiana. She was a big fan of the Cincinnati Bengals and Reds, Joey Votto was her all time favorite player.

Her life was a testament to hard work and a sincere concern for those around her. She understood the importance of family and service, with several brothers, and her husband who proudly served our country.

LaVerne's legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2025, 10:00 AM – 12:00PM, followed by a funeral service at Noon at The Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home located at 2155 Compton Road, 45231 (follow the blue line upon entering the memorial park). A graveside service will immediately follow in the Garden of Restoration.

We invite friends and family to join us as we honor LaVerne's beautiful life and the love, she brought to all. Together, let us celebrate her spirit and the cherished memories we hold close to our hearts.

Loved, loved, loved LaVerne! She was one of my favorites from Fox Run Campground! She always made me laugh with some sort of comment she would make while driving by on her golf cart. I used to crack up over how serious she was when it came to Bingo at camp! I have really missed her over the last few years since she was unable to get there. I am so sorry for your loss but, I know she will not be forgotten! She was such a neat lady who lived an incredibly full life! RIP LaVerne.
