LAVERNE G. ROEMMICH
October 2, 1927 ˜ August 6, 2023


LaVerne G. Roemmich, 95, of Vancouver, WA, passed away peacefully at The Hampton at Salmon Creek Memory Care on Aug. 6, 2023.

She was born in New Leipzig, ND, on Oct. 2, 1927, to Gotthilf and Mathilda (Patzer) Knopp. The Knopp family moved to Shepherd, MT, in the mid-’30s where she met her future husband, George; then moved to Vancouver in the early ’40s where she graduated in 1944 from Vancouver High School.

She retired from Alcoa where she had worked for 27 years. She and George enjoyed traveling and dancing together and going to various casinos in Oregon and Washington.

She is survived by her daughters, Gaynel Moody and Jo Ann Potter (Terry); granddaughter, Mi Chelle; great-grandchildren, Jon (Jessica), Nicol (Derek), Sam and Gimi; five great-great-granddaughters; a brother and sister, both of Vancouver; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, four brothers, her husband, George; and her grandson, Robert.

Graveside service will be held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2023, at 12:30 p.m. and refreshments in the hospitality room at 1:30 p.m.

The family thanks Kaiser Hospice Care and The Hampton at Salmon Creek staff for the wonderful care you provided our mom.
