LaVonne Anderson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Serenity Funeral Home of Bluffdale on Jan. 6, 2026.
LaVonne was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven and excitedly reunited with her husband Bob, son Bill and daughters Cyndi and Julie Lynn along with many others that were anxiously awaiting her arrival.

Born and raised in Salt Lake City, she followed the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She liked to cook and sew. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing solitaire, journaling and reading. She was very creative with problem solving and multitasking. She was a gifted pianist and took on the calling of ward organist for most of her adult life. She loved playing songs and hymns and her music touched the lives of many throughout the years.

At the age of 20, she met a very handsome young Navy man who must have played his cards right! He was the love of her life. She and Bob were married June 17, 1955 in the Salt Lake Temple. It did not take very long for them to know they wanted a large family. She loved being a wife and mother more than anything and nothing took priority over her children. The majority of her life was dedicated to providing the very best life possible for her 10 children, 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was dedicated to the care of her elderly parents even while raising her own family. She did very little for herself, she chose to give to others instead. She was very selfless and Christ-like. She was a devout member of the Church and was heavily involved with the Relief Society. She and Bob later completed volunteer work at the Jordan River Temple.

What an incredible woman! Words cannot express how much she is loved and will be missed.

LaVonne is lovingly remembered by her children Victor Anderson (Josette), Kris Brklacich (Cory), Ted Anderson, Holly Anderson, Wendie Anderson, Rosie Anderson and Rob Anderson. Her brother, David Clayton (Kathy and family).

Grandchildren Mike Thiede, Ryan Thiede, Desiree Ballard (Michael), Kelli Dall(Curt), Coby Brklacich, Craig Brklacich, Jeremy James(Brittney), Jennifer Anderson and Gwen Anderson. Great-grandchildren Tristan, Kinley, Tanner, Jordan, Ashley, Kylee, Katie, Kenna, Kaisley, Petra, Lucas and Luna.

She was joined in heaven by many, including Bob, Bill, Cyndi, Julie Lynn, Jeff and Jessica.

Thank you, Mom. For every lecture, every lesson, for every time you rolled your eyes, for every laugh, for all the hugs, for every wink, for every meal you made, for every load of laundry you folded, for all the school assignments you did for us, for the 100's of PTA meetings, and even more doctor appointments, for all the dance recitals and karate tournaments, for every time you defended us even when we didn't deserve it, for the countless times you patiently waited for us, for the unknown amount of times you silently cried for us and for the neverending example of compassion that taught us to be better parents and better people.

We will cherish all the memories, until we meet again.

Lavonne was my beautiful cousin. I was fortunate as a young girl of age of eight to pass out little pieces of cake at her wedding reception. She was the most beautiful bride I had ever seen, I always thought she was so pretty and kind. She was one of my oldest cousins on the Clayton side and always set an example for us of grace and beauty. Judy Hilton Turner

So sorry for your loss. I remember Thanksgiving dinner with all my Aunts, Uncles and cousins at Grandma Claytons home. Setting the table, washing the dishes, and playing games. Visiting Uncle Bill's home and all the mink. I was much younger but remember LaVonne dropping in to always say hi to "Aunt Phyllis". What a wonderful reunion they must be having.
