Lavonne Gardner Obituary
Lavonne was born August 22, 1926, in Avoca, Iowa, to the late Carl F. and Hilda (Krummel) Wendt. She graduated Avoca High School in 1944, where she was a member of the girls basketball team that earned a trip to the state tournament in 1943. Lavonne worked for several years as manager of files and mail at Central States Insurance. She was of the Lutheran faith and an avid basketball fan.
In addition to her parents, Lavonne was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda F. Naylor, in 2012; grandson, Richard Naylor, in 1973; brother, Orvis Wendt; and special friend, Tony Roehrig.
Lavonne is survived by her daughter, Peggy (Frank) Stanek, of Omaha, Neb.; son, Thomas (Linda) Gardner, of Council Bluffs; grandchildren, Tom (Nicole) Gardner, Nick (Angela) Gardner, Lori (Cortny) White, Traci (Eric) Stanek, Michael Stanek; great grandchildren, Ryan, Brittany, Finnean and Caellum Gardner.
Visitation with the family, Thursday, 6 p.m., followed by a Memorial Service at 7 p.m., at the Cutler-O'Neill- Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Chapel. A reception will follow at the Walnut Hill Reception Center, 1350 E. Pierce St. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of SWI.

How lucky you both were to have had here for the length of time you did. I would have loved to have had that in my lifetime. She was a wonderful person and so graceous to me when ever she seen me. she will be very much missed. I hope the love and all those incredible memories will hold you in your life's journey whereever that may take you..
