LaVonne Verna Kueker

LaVonne Verna Kueker, age 83, of Mankato, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2026.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Mankato, with Pastor Adam Matheny officiating. A visitation will be held before the service at the church, starting at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the family. LaVonne was born on February 5, 1943, to Alvin and Florence (Schroeder) Gueltzow in St. Peter. She graduated from St. Peter High School in 1961, and then worked for 43 years at Immanuel-St. Joseph’s hospital in Mankato in nutritional services. LaVonne married Gene Kueker on August 21, 1965, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Mankato. Together, they had two children: Jamie and Kerri.

LaVonne was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church for many years. Some of her hobbies included gardening, reading, baking, watching her favorite TV shows and listening to her favorite music. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family camping at various campgrounds in the area.

LaVonne is survived by her children, Jamie (Nicole) Kueker, Kerri Simmons, and Scott Risenbigler; grandchildren, Tyler, Darrian, Ethan, Cora, Bella, Hope, and Bekah Kueker, Jordan Lamoureaux and Jaxton Lamont, and Chase and Leah Simmons; great-grandchildren, Ivy and Ira; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

LaVonne was preceded in death by her husband, Gene; and her parents, Alvin and Florence.
