LaWanda Crane, 96, passed away on Saturday March 22, 2025, in Abilene, Texas.
Visitation will be held on Thursday March 27, 2025, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South Abilene, Texas. Funeral Services will be held on Friday March 28, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South, Abilene, Texas. Interment will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park.
Lawanda was born on January 30, 1929, in Bethel, Texas to her parents O.D. Wood and Violet Wood. She was a life-long member of South Park Church of Christ, which her late husband, Henry, built in 1972. She ran the front office of Sure-Kill Pest Control until they sold the business and retired. LaWanda always loved to sew, embroider, crochet and do quilt work, as well as read and do puzzles. She loved to tell real life stories of her growing up and had a love for Betty Boop. LaWanda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She is survived by her daughters, Tammie Davis and husband Jimmy, Carolynn Christian; her sons, Clark Crane and wife Cindy, Dennis Crane and wife Marsha; 9 grandchildren, Lindsey, Christopher, Jessica, Apryl, Greg, Ricky, Cole, Terri and Brandy; as well as 15 great grandchildren; and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, O.D. Wood; her mother, Violet Wood; her husband, Henry Crane; her son, Mark Crane; her sisters, Patsy Perry and Nelda June Wood; and her grandson, Rusty Crane.
Pallbearers will be her sons, Dennis and Clark Crane, son in law Jimmy Davis, grandson Christopher Davis, husband of granddaughter Kyle Wallace and great grandson Caden Gaston, with honorary pallbearers being great grandson Jaxon Wallace and great granddaughter Adalynn Wallace.
LaWanda will be deeply missed.
