Lawanda Machell James was born to J.M. and Betty Moore on February 10, 1961. Chell passed peacefully from this life on Monday, May 15, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; her parents J.M. Moore Sr. and Betty Moore-Williams; her sister Twila Moore; her daughter Bianca Tillery; her stepson Tremart James III; her granddaughter Ayanna Michell Tillery; her grandson Tremere Craddock; and nephew Melvin Young.
She attended Del Valle and Austin Public Schools. She graduated from Johnston High school.
Chell loved to cook, play games, and spend time with her kids and especially the grandkids. Chell accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized and united with the Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church under the Pastorage of the late Rev. E.L. Roberts.
Chell met her loving husband Tremart 26 years ago. They loved and cared for each other dearly. They moved to Bryan, Texas in 2015 where they resided until the time of her passing.
In bereavement, she leaves to cherish her memories: her loving husband, Tremart James Jr. of 26 years; three daughters: Dominga Hill (Bryson), Angela Tillery, and Erika Tillery; two sons: Christopher Tillery and Dimitri Harper; eleven grandchildren: Bryson Jr., Darrien, Saniyah, Marli, Isaiah, Elbert Jr., Elijah, Kayden, Christopher, Ahmiyah, and Armani; one sister: Conoshura Cauley (Damien); three brothers: Leonard Maxwell, J.M. Moore Jr., and Jimmy L. Moore; stepmother Barbara Moore; one stepsister Sonya Dodson; two stepbrothers, Pastor Rodney Lee, Sr. and Daniel Shelby, Jr.; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
