Lawrence Afton Obituary
He was born on December 21, 1930 to James and Emma (Mund) Afton in Casnovia, MI. Lawrence worked as a Construction Worker for Pioneer and also enjoyed being a musician. On March 10, 1956, he married Frances Kay Kingsford in Fremont, MI. Mr. Afton served his country as a veteran in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Larry was very generous with helping out his children. Our family gatherings were filled with music where Lawrence was always ready to shake a leg or two. He was always filled with laughter making all our lives brighter. Lawrence's pride and joy was his VW Bug Convertible that he loved driving to Burger King and eating his Whopper Jr. while watching the traffic go by.
Mr. Afton is survived by two daughters, Susan K. (Don) Anderson, and Marjorie L. (David) Middleton; two sons, Scott (Angie) Afton, and Joe L. (Pamela) Afton; nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by wife, Frances Kay Afton in 2019 and also all of his siblings preceded him in death.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 11, 2023, 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Fields-McKinley Funeral and Cremation Services - Grant, Grant, Michigan.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, 11:00 am at the Fields-McKinley Funeral and Cremation Services Grant Chapel, Grant, Michigan, with Pastor Garhett Morgan, officiating. Interment will take place in the Seaman Cemetery.
