Coach Coots was a model educator and Coach. It was my priveldge to be under his tutelage througout my South Beloit Sobo High School years. His favorite saying that i will never forget was, "kids/athletes/Sobos from South Beloit nevet give up". Goods Speed and Rest in Peace Coach !!

So sorry for your loss. I didn't have the pleasure of knowing Mr. Coots, but I have heard some of the stories that Corey told about him. I wish you peace as you remember him.

Very sorry to hear of Larry's passing he was not only a great coach and teacher but a great man. He will be greatly missed by the SOBO and Sycamore community. MY prayers go out to his family.

To Larry's Family. My sincere condolences on the loss of your father. I grew up with the Coots family. Church, Larry was one of my teachers at South Beloit Junior HS. He was a wonderful man. May your memories sustain you through this difficult time.

Larry Coots was a great coach, teacher, and mentor to me during my South Beloit High School days. I still remember many of his quotes and words of wisdom, even to this day. He had great character and did a terrific job while he was at South Beloit. Prayers and condolences to his family.

To Larrys Family I felt fortunate to have Coach Coots for my teacher from 1980 to 1984, more importantly though was the relationship he shared with my wife Karen and myself as adults. His wisdom has a profoun ring to it as the years have pasted. His pride was in his family as he spoke of his children. We are proud to have met such a wise and kind man. Kevin and Karen Cady

I loved Uncle Larry and I'm so sorry that he's left us. I have such fun memories of Thanksgivings, play dates and sleepovers and Trudy and Larry were an integral part of my childhood. My love to my wonderful cousins. You are blessed to have such love amongst each other to gather strength. Sending love from Colorado.

Sorry to hear of Coach Coots' passing. First known to me as teacher and coach at South Beloit, he became a longtime Pierce and Carter family friend after moving to Sycamore. Glad he was a part of our lives.

Excellent teacher and coach; caring man who supported students and teachers. Ready to laugh, fun to be around Larry had many friends in and out of teaching. True professional in every way. So sad to hear that Larry passed away. Larry was both my teacher and coach at South Beloit. He was a great mentor and role model for so many. The Sobo community lost a valued family member. Our hearts go out to all his family and friends.

At a loss for words. I met Larry when he came to Sycamore when I was a freshman in High school. Throughout the next 2 decades I ended up working with him, hanging out with him and he was always the best. Here's to you Larry....you were my friend. Thoughts and prayers to his family.
