Aiken, SC- Lawrence Percy "Larry" Corey, 76, formerly of Woodsville and most recently of Aiken, died following a period of declining health on Friday, March 6, 2026, with his family by his side.
Larry was born in
St. Johnsbury, VT on September 23, 1949 to Reginald and Velma (Chase) Corey. He grew up in
Monroe, NH where he raised prize chickens. He was very proud of his trophies and showed them off to his grandchildren.
Larry graduated from McIndoe Falls Academy, McIndoe Falls, VT, as the Valedictorian of the Class of 1967. After graduation, he attended Plymouth State College. He also served two years in the US Army.
Following his Honorable Discharge, he initially was employed at Kilfasset Farms as a milkman. Larry then accepted a position at Woodsville Guaranty Savings Bank, where he spent 38 years before retiring in 2011.
A community servant, Larry was an EMT for the Woodsville Ambulance and was a long-time Commissioner for the Woodsville Precinct. He was a member of the Cohase Lions Club and served on the McIndoe Falls Academy Alumni Association.
Together, Larry and Linda followed their children's athletic and scholastic achievements. He loved his Pine Street neighbors in Woodsville and considered them to be extended family, especially the Gould and Wilson boys. He enjoyed traveling on family vacations in the family's motorhome, traveling from coast to coast. In 2012, Larry and Linda relocated to
Myrtle Beach, SC where, for two years, he worked as a security guard at the Myrtle Beach Travel Park. He was a huge NE Patriots fan and enjoyed hockey and NASCAR. He loved playing cribbage, participating in many tournaments. On Thursday nights, after Lions Club meetings, he and the boys could be found playing poker.
He was predeceased by his parents Reginald and Velma Corey; his daughter, Lisa Marie Corey; his brother, Leslie Corey; and his nephew, Scott Clark.
Larry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda Provencal Corey of Aiken; and a daughter, Jennifer Buckley (Joshua) and their children, Ashley (Corey), James (Starr), Isabella (Robert), Gabriel, Hannah, Colton, Brody, and Trent. He is also survived by three sons, Brandon (Leah), Adam (Heidi) and their children Remington, Lexington, and Ellington, and his son Mark (Gill); along with four great grandchildren, Eva, Marsilio, Olivia, and Samuel. His sister, Linda Clark (Robert) of
Lisbon, NH and nieces and nephews, also survive him.
Larry was very loved by his entire family and he will be greatly missed.
The Corey family will honor Larry's life with a private service.
