Lawrence Habig Jr.

Lawrence E. Habig, 89, of Shadyside, Oh died January 26, 2025 at Arbors at Woodsfield, Oh. He was born on July 9, 1935 in Martins Ferry, OH, a son of the late Lawrence and Sylvia (Rose) Habig.
He was a retired employee of Ormet Aluminum Plant, Hannibal, OH, a U.S. Navy Korean War Veteran serving aboard the USS Coral Sea (CV-43) aircraft carrier. He was an avid outdoorsman that loved to hunt and fish.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene (Krieger) Habig, brothers, James, Roland, Richard, Charles; sisters, Sylvia (Sis) Habig, Gertrude O'Conner, Anna Billingsley, Alvia Habig, Mary Henry; and a granddaughter, Amanda Habig.
Lawrence is survived by his 5 children, Lawrence Habig, Catherine Porter, John Habig, James (Angie) Habig, David (Mary) Habig; 3 brothers, Robert Habig, William (Jackie) Habig, Thomas (Pam) Habig; 2 Sisters, Emma Billingsley, Nancy Yoder; 7 Grandchildren; and 5 Great Grandchildren.
Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home 3900 Central Ave., Shadyside, OH on Friday January 31st from 10 AM until time of service at 1 PM. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.
