Lawrence M. "Larry" Herrmann

Lawrence M. "Larry" Herrmann, 70, of Hampshire, passed away Thursday, October 23rd, 2025, at Home surrounded by his family.
He was born August 19th, 1955, in Elgin, IL, the son of Joseph and Loretta (Lange) Herrmann.
Larry married Janice Rakowski on September 21st, 1991, in Burlington. Larry worked at Fox Valley Fire and Safety for over 40 years and was a volunteer firefighter for the Hampshire Fire Department for several years. Larry loved hunting, fishing, and camping, having several pop ups and trailers throughout their 34 years of marriage. He especially loved spending time with his family.
Larry also loved farming, farming with Frank and Carol Engel since he was 17 or 18 years old, especially harvesting corn and chisel plowing. He looked forward to hitting the fields every fall.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Janice; his children, Angela (Donald) Rankin, Heather (Tim) Rowlett, and Richard (Brandy) Guptail; his grandchildren, Lance Rowlett, Alexander and Jordan Rankin, and Tyler, Ethan and Zachary Guptail; his great grandson, AJ Rowlett; and his siblings, Dale (Diane) Herrmann, Chris (Ron) Glenndenning, and Linda (JC) Roach; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and several cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 30th, at Fredrick Funeral Home, 284 Park St. in Hampshire from 4-8 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 297 E. Jefferson Ave, Friday, October 31st. Burial will follow at a later date at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Larry's name may be directed to The American Cancer Society.
