Lawrence Robert Hibben, born on September 7, 1955, in Aurora, Illinois, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025, in Chesapeake, Virginia, at the age of 70.

Lawrence proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps, dedicating 23 years of his life to military service and retiring with the esteemed rank of Master Sergeant. He was deeply proud of his time in the Marines and carried that pride with him throughout his life.

In addition to his distinguished military career, Lawrence had a rich and fulfilling personal life. He was an avid boating enthusiast and loved traveling long distances, always seeking new adventures. He loved golf and was often found out on the greens. Lawrence also had a fondness for watching game shows, and he was a member of a Corvette club. A devoted sports fan, he cheered passionately for the Chicago Bears, supporting them through every season.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Warren and Marilyn Hibben. He is survived by his loving children: Michael Hibben and his wife Dara of Virginia Beach, VA; Jennifer Sicinski and her husband Raphael of Virginia Beach, VA; Angel Hibben of Virginia Beach, VA; and Jeffery Latham of Tampa, FL. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Luna Hibben, Michael Hibben-Kovach, Noah Urbina, Sebastian Sicinski, Sofia Sicinski, and Jace Hibben. Lawrence is also survived by his dear sisters: Lynn Schilling of Batavia, IL, and Amy Taylor and her husband TJ of Maple Park, IL, along with a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends who will miss him dearly.

A funeral service to honor Lawrence's life will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Altmeyer Funeral Home - Chesapeake Chapel, located at 929 S. Battlefield Blvd., Chesapeake, VA 23322. Following the service, a reception will take place at 3:00 PM at The Rustic Spoon - Red Mill, 2133 Upton Drive Suite 130, Virginia Beach, VA 23454. Interment will occur at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery, where Lawrence will receive full Marine honors.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of Lawrence's memory. His legacy of service, love for adventure, and dedication to his family will be remembered by all who knew him.
