Mr. Lawrence D. Hume

Hume, Lawrence Durwood “L.D.�, 87, of Tampa, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on December 27, 2010. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Agnes “Aggie�, of 66 years, his sons David (Cathy), Stephen (Jeannie) and Bob (Linda), his grandchildren, Julie, Beau, Jessica, Dustin and great-grandson, Bryce. L.D. grew up in Kentucky and graduated from the University of Louisville, majoring in mechanical engineering. He served as a 1st Lieutenant in the Army Air Corps as a flight instructor during World War II in El Paso, TX. He was a General Electric executive for over 40 years. L.D. enjoyed golf, fishing, playing cards and being with his family. His passion was his devotion and love for his wife and he will forever be an inspiration for his kindness, wisdom and tireless dedication to all of his family. A special thank you is extended to his caregivers, Virginia, Toni and Roseleine and to the Lifepath Hospice Burgundy Team for their comfort and care. A funeral service will be held Sunday, January 2nd, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 2101 Hubert Ave., Tampa. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary’s Episcopal Church or Lifepath Hospice.
