On April 9th, 2024, Lawrence H. Johnson passed away after an extended illness. Born on July 28th, 1939 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Rose and late John T. Johnson, he was the loving husband of the late Judith Ann Johnson; devoted father of Joseph Michael Johnson and wife Paula, the late Gregory Scott Johnson; cherished grandfather of Gregory Scott Johnson, Jr.; and dear brother of George Johnson and wife Jonelle.
Lawrence, known to friends and family as Larry, was a United States Army Vietnam era veteran. After his military service, Larry was a career firefighter and instructor at the Baltimore City Fire Academy. As a first responder, he devoted his life to the service of others.
Visitation will be held at the family owned Ambrose Funeral Home, Inc., 1328 Sulphur Spring Rd., Arbutus on Wednesday, April 17th from 3 PM to 4:30 PM, with a memorial service beginning promptly at 4:30 PM. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at Kelsey's Irish Pub in Ellicott City, MD located at 8840 Baltimore National Pike from 5:30pm to 9:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lawrence's name to the Parkinson's Foundation.
