It is with deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved husband, father, and friend, Lawrence Carl McConnell, on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at the age of 85.
Larry was a devoted family man, known for his kind heart, steady presence, and quiet strength. He was happiest in the great outdoors; whether fishing by a quiet lake, camping with his family, or simply spending time with those he loved most. His love for nature was only matched by his dedication to his work and community.
A proud lifelong Teamster, Larry took great pride in his years of hard work and solidarity. He formed lasting friendships throughout his career and carried a strong sense of purpose and integrity in all he did.
He is survived by his children, Daniel McConnell (Susie), Rebecca Banks (Sam), Richard Leet (Robin), Douglass Leet; 35 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren amount, who will forever cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Janet McConnell; his children Lawrence McConnell Jr., Terry McConnell, Victor McConnell, James Leet, Ronald Leet and Robert Leet.
Larry's legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, September 18th, 2025 at 1-2 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio 45424. Service will begin at 2pm also at the funeral home.
