Lawrence A. Martin Jr.

Lawrence Alford Martin Jr., AKA Sonny, age 76, died after a long battle with cancer on March 4th, 2026. He was born on December 19, 1949, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of Lawrence Sr. and Thelma Martin.

Lawrence graduated from Mason High School, Class of 1968. Following graduation, he spent his career as a butcher. Lawrence was married in 1969 to Wanda, and they celebrated 56 years together in September. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and a phenomenal grandfather.

Lawrence is survived by his wife, Wanda Martin; his daughters, Pamela (Brad) Cox and Melissa (Scott) Stewart; five grandchildren, Brittany (Shane) Brown, Ashley (Derrick) Holt, Erica (Travis) Holt, Jacob Stewart and Sandra (Shannon) Cox; seven great- grandchildren, Aiden Brown, Carson Stewart, Bradyn Cox, Bailey Holt, Storm Smalley, Charlotte Holt and Slade Smalley; brothers, Steve H. (Vicky) Martin and Jeffrey R. Martin; and sister-in-law, Cheryl Martin. Lawrence is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Curtis S. Martin.

A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Rest Haven Cemetery, 10209 Plainfield Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45241. Those who wish to remember Lawrence in a special way can make memorial donations to a hospice organization of their choosing.
