Doris and Family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you. I learned a great deal from Larry since I first met him in 1997. I will never forget going on calls with Larry and making our routine stop at Dairy Queen or going down the street to the Ideal Diner. He will be missed by all.

Doris, and family,
Larry was a wonderful gentleman. I worked for him for almost 10 years. He was probably the best boss I've ever had. He was gentle, caring, honest and kind. He taught me much about funeral service and life. He was my boss when both of my children were born and their first visitor. The last time I visited him he still remembered them and their names almost 15 years later. I have fond memories of my years at OE. Larry was an amazing asset to funeral service and will be missed by many. He truly lived his faith.

Dear Doris and Family of Lawrence,

I am sorry to hear of the passing of Lawence and I extend my most heartful sympathy to you. I have warm memories of my years at Elim and being part of the Mariner group. I remember the dear friends there with love. When my brother Stan passed away in the fall of 2002 Lawrence and his associate took care of his service. I had a nice visit with Lawrence at that time and it was good see him. I also remember happily knowing you Doris and members of your families. I retired and moved to California at the end of 1984 but have continued to be interested in my dear Elim friends. May the Lord comfort your hearts at this sad time. How wonderful to know that Lawrence is with our Savior.
Love,
Jean Reed

To Doris and all of Larry's family,
We are very sorry for your loss. Larry was a most kind and gentle man. I am lucky to have worked with him in pre-need, in the funeral home office and at some of the funerals. Larry always welcomed everyone - never excluded anyone. Having our office right in the funeral home, gave us the opportunity to know Larry as a friend as well. My granddaughter, Reina, remembers "Warry" because of the gentle man that he was. We are blessed to have called him friend. Know that our prayers are with you all as you continue your journey without him near.
Sincerely,
Chris & Steve Williams

To Doris and all of Larry's family I want to expres my deepest sympathy for your loss. Larry was a wonderful man and friend. I worked with him for 18 years (1984-2002) and while that seems like a long time it actually flew by quickly. The first time I met Larry was at my grandma's funeral in 1964! He was the tall, nice man at the mortuary (I was 7 and everyone was tall). It was the experience of that funeral and the memory of that man that guided me to a career in funeral service and the privilege to work with Larry. Over the years I was able to watch as Larry taught new students in funeral service. He was patient and fair with each one as he shared his talent and compassion for his profession. He was a humble, faith-centered man of high morals. Larry was respected in the community and within the profession as a decent, hard woking fixture. Above everthing else he was always a gentleman...always a gentle - man. May he now have a well-deserved rest from his labors.

Don't think of him as gone away..
his journey's just begun
life holds so many facets
this earth is only one.

Just think of him resting
from the sorrows and the tears
in a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days and years.

Think how he must be wishing
that we could know today
how nothing but our sadness
can really pass away.

And think of him as living
in the hearts of those he touched..
for nothing loved is ever lost..
and he was loved so much.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
May God Bless and watch over you during this difficult time.

Caryl and I extend our sympathies to Doris and Lawrence's children. Lawrence demonstrated time and time again God's love for the bereaved and God's welcome to his saints. He left a legacy in all that we do, of devotion of his work and life for the sake of the kingdom. He was so special to Elim. "Enter into his kingdom, thou good and faithful servant."

I have fond memories of Larry Osborne. My husband was the Executive Director for The Minnesota Funeral Directors from 1953 until his death in 1981, and he had the highest regard for him as a professional and as a friend.

Dear Osborne Family,
You are all in my thoughts in prayers. We have lost a wonderful "gentleman". I knew him recently because I am one of the receptionists at Presbyterian Homes of North Oaks where he lived, but I also remember him from many many years ago on Central Ave. I grew up and lived a great part of my life in NE Minneapolis and always remember seeing Mr. Osborne "on the avenue". He had a warm smile and greating for everyone. He will never be forgotten.

I worked for Larry for a total of 8 years as a funeral director/embalmer. (1987-1994) The experience I received at O.E. Larson-Osborne as well as the friends and co-workers I met along the way are priceless. I have many wonderful memories and I would not trade the experience for anything. My thoughts and prayers are with Larry's family at this sad time, he will be greatly missed.

I worked for Larry for three years(1971-1974). He was the most honest, sincere, caring person I think I have ever met to say nothing of having the opportunity to work for. There was one way to do things and that was the right way. I have said many times over the years, I have more respect for Larry than anyone I have ever met. Very intelligent man with a wonderful sense of humor, always, always, striving to do the right thing. My thoughts and prayers go to the family. The world is a better place for him having been a part of it.

My family has known Larry for many years. I always remember receiving the pocket calendar mailing every new year. I remember meeting him when I was about 10 years old, and remember the "walking file cabinet" he carried in his suit coat pockets. He pulled out a business letter that he had been carrying for well over ten years. I remember waiting many late nights at OE Larsons, and will not forget Larry's hospitality. Years later, my family and I established our own funeral trade business in St Paul. But I know I never thought of Larry as our competition. Larry was always there if we needed an extra hand, or piece of inventory. I will always remember Lawrence E. Osborne as a great funeral director, an esteemed colleague, and as a friend. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Osborne family in this time of loss. I know Larry will be missed by not only his family, but by the Minnesota funeral community also.
