Lawrence S. Riddell Jr.

Lawrence S. Riddell, Jr. of LaGrange passed away on his 61st birthday, June 11, 2009 at West Bay Care & Rehabilitation Center, Westlake following a lengthy illness. Born in Cleveland, he was a resident of LaGrange having moved from North Ridgeville where he lived for some 50 years. Mr. Riddell served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He had been employed as a police officer for Wakeman and Vermilion and as a Lorain County Deputy Sheriff for many years. He was also a self employed construction worker. Larry was a member of AMVETS, Elyria and enjoyed woodworking, fishing, refinishing antiques and taking trips to Amish country. Survivors include his wife, Linda (nee Tresch), daughter, Brooke Tresch of Elyria, sons, Larry Riddell of Elyria, Jim Riddell of Amherst, Stephen Marshall of Leavenworth, KS, Brian and Matthew Riddell both of LaGrange and a sister, Marie Richardson of Temple, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Ann Riddell, brothers, Stanley and Terry Riddell and by a sister, Carole Riddell. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at the David Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville where funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday. Rev. Doug Koesel will officiate. Burial will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, OH.
