Lawrence "Larry" Ryckman, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend passed away surrounded by his loving family on September 4th 2025.

Born July 9th 1945 in Buffalo, New York, he grew up on the west side raised by a loving foster family. After graduation from Boys Vocational School, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he proudly served his country from 1965 to 1969 as a jet engine mechanic. He was Honorably Discharged as a Staff Sergeant E-5. He was hired by American Airlines in 1969, where he retired after over 35 years of service.

He is survived by his loving wife of over fifty one years, Judith (nee Egloff), his daughter, Rebecca Hopkins and husband Derek, his sons Eric, Jared and David, his grandchildren, Jonathan, Rachel and Ryan, his only sister Carol Augello and husband James, his brothers and sisters in law Leona Ryckman and the late Richard, James Egloff and the late Lynette, Douglas and Sandra Egloff, David and Tesha Egloff, and many beautiful nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers Richard, Ronald, and Reginald.

A die hard fan of the Buffalo Bills, he loved watching football, he was an avid card and poker player, and bowler. He loved traveling and never said no to an opportunity to be with family and friends. His legacy of love and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life in honor of Larry will be held on October 4th at 3pm at the American Legion Post 516 located at 6801 Manhattan Blvd. Fort Worth, TX. Family and friends are invited to join in remembering his vibrant spirit and love he so generously shared.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital or order a Memorial Tree in his honor.
