Lawrence Sipple Obituary

Lawrence Fredrick Sipple

November 5, 1936 - January 14, 2026

Lawrence Fredrick Sipple was born on November 5th 1936 in Menomonie, WI and passed into Jesus' arms on January 14, 2026. He was 89 years old.

He gave his heart to the Lord at a Billy Graham movie showing when he was taken there by his mother when he was 12 years old. He attended and graduated from Waneka Grade School and Dunn County Agriculture High School.

After high school, he worked on his father's farm and for neighbors on their farms. Lawrence was married in 1964 to Faith Miller at Salem Iron Creek Evangelical United Brethren Church. They successfully dairy farmed near there in Spring Brook Township for 28 years. Before he retired in 1992, for health reasons, he had received an award for the highest-quality milk of all their patrons from Sanna Dairies Swiss Miss Products, where they sent their milk. Lawrence and Faith celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on September 12th of 2025. They were each other's best friends. He will be deeply and sadly missed by his wife.

His hobbies included watching sports on the television, reading avidly, and being an accomplished good cook. Lawrence enjoyed playing basketball, baseball and dartball with his friends in high school and during his young adulthood. He treasured all his relatives and felt close to them for all his life, taking a special interest in their accomplishments and celebrations.

He was a faithful church attender and participator all his life, serving as a long-time head usher for about seven years. He also served on the pastor parish committee for a term.

Lawrence was known as an honest, moral person, having integrity. He was a hardworking man in spite of the pain he had in his body most of his life. Still, he had a good sense of humor. He made us laugh often.

He was an excellent father and grandfather-very generous monetarily and time-wise, and very demonstrative in his love and affection he had for his children and grandchildren. He always said the easiest thing he had to do in this life was loving his children and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by them.

Lawrence said to include in his obituary: "Don't grieve too much for me. Just rejoice and be happy for me that I am now in heaven and enjoying the happiest of life, freed from the pain and disabilities I had in life."

Toward the end of his life, at the American Lutheran Home in Menomonie, he took appreciation and gratitude to his caregivers. He was also dearly cared for by the St. Croix Hospice Care team. Lawrence had peace and assurance that he would be in heaven with Jesus someday. He often reflected on how moved he was that Jesus died on the cross for us so that this was possible.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his father, Clarence E. Sipple, by his mother Erma A. Sipple, and younger brother Kenneth A. Sipple, his paternal grandparents Fredrick E. Sipple and Lena Miller-Sipple and maternal grandparents Arthur Schaefer and Susan Huber-Schaefer. Surviving him are his wife, Faith Miller Sipple, daughters Wendy Stuart (Richard Nelson) Menomonie, WI and Mrs. LeAnn Sipple (husband Michael Steger) Fort Collins, CO. Grandchildren Alyssa Stuart (fiancée Nathan Finka) and Rowan and Ava Steger and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

Arrangements are being made by Olson Funeral Home. The funeral and visitation is being held at Cedarbrook Church, 3502 Wilson St., Menomonie, WI with Pastor Kyle Gunderson officiating. Visitation will start at 11:00am and the service will be held at 12:00pm on Monday, January 19th 2026. Lunch will be served after the service and the burial will follow at the Iron Creek Cemetery, Spring Brook Township.
