In memory of
April 30, 2010
I was deeply sadden to learn of Smitty's passing he was and always will be a landmark in Washington Park. He truly will be missed. From time to time I would drive through the Park, homesick you might say and who would I hear hollaring my name Smitty of course saying, "Hey Theodora" before I even saw him. I will miss that for sure. I at this time extend my deepest sympathies to you in this time of sorrow . May God hold you close and strengthen you in this hour of sadness.

Weedy and Bubba,
I know this week has been a challenge for you. I couldn't imagine experiencing a lost like this. Your father was fun to be around. He was silly just like yall. It took alot of courage to do what you did for him. No excuse me, that's "LOVE" and I know he is very pleased. Even though your hearts are broken right now, "SMILE" because he's no longer in "PAIN", "SING" because he now has "PEACE", and "SHOUT" because he's now at "HOME". Love BFF
Pops aka Smitty,
Weedy and Bubba told me, they felt like a book was closed on them while they were still enjoying the story. The book didn't close, you and your kids started a new chapter. They had to grow up really fast. They're already grown, but in one week their love and respect for you showed others how to love and respect you. You have awesome grown up kids. Love Duke Sister

I will miss Smitty's infectious laugh, his ever-present toothpick, and his driving the streets of Washington Park at a record (and steady!) 7 mph. Most of all, I'll miss him sitting outside just watching us have fun. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Love,
From the Staff of Scott's Funeral Home

To the family of "Smitty" a very dear friend:
We were so sorry to hear of your loss. The thoughts of many are with you at this time of sorrow.
We will never ever forget Smitty. His laugh, we can hear today just as if he is standing here in front of us. He changed our lives and did everything he could to help us after we lost our parents. We could not have made it without him.
We will miss you friend but we will never forget you. Love always.
