Lawrence Smith Obituary

Lawrence Harper Smith, 90, of Reynoldsville, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

Born on July 12, 1935, in Reynoldsville, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Helen (Hiles) Smith; she survives.

Harper was a proud Navy veteran, serving active duty from 1956-1957, followed by four years reserve duty.

On September 30, 1961, Harper married the love of his life, Caroline (Stewart) Smith, in Reynoldsville, PA.

Harper was retired from Glass Erectors as a glazer, was a member of the Reynoldsville Eagles and Reynoldsville American Legion. He enjoyed spending time mowing his yard, hunting, auto racing and tinkering in his garage. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He survived by a loving family including his wife, Caroline; children, Marsha (Rick) Levinson of Brockway, Brian (Melissa) Smith of Reynoldsville; and daughter-in-law, Lisa Smith; grandchildren, K.C. (Kevin), Jason, Brittany, Hannah, Cody, Lucas, Brandi, Alissa and James; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Isabelle Zimmerman of DuBois.

Harper was preceded by his parents; son, Kevin Smith; a grandson, Neko; two sisters, Delores Smith, Edna Mae Adamson.

All services are private.
