Lawrence “Larry” William Stembridge, 67, of Reelsboro, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at CarolinaEast Medical Center.
Larry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend – a man whose strength ran deep and whose love ran even deeper. He was always determined to take care of those he loved. He was dependable to his core, the steady hand everyone could count on and the calm voice in moments of uncertainty.
Though he attended New Bethlehem FWB Church, Larry was a member of Rock of Zion FWB Church. His faith was not only something he professed, but something he lived daily through kindness, forgiveness, and unwavering love.
Larry was an avid Carolina fan, cheering faithfully and passionately through every season. But his greatest joy was his family. He never missed a chance to call, never ended a conversation without saying “I love you,” and never let distance create silence. He was the peacemaker, the glue that held the family together.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Charlotte Stembridge; his beloved daughter, Kayla Stembridge; and his cousin, Tommy Slade.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 44 years, Debbie Stembridge; daughter, Ashley Stembridge Elder (Joe); son, Josh Stembridge; sister, Trish Stembridge; brother, Ken Stembridge (Heather); three grandchildren, Cassidy, Magnus, and Luna; his cousin/friend, Mike Slade; and many other cousins and friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, March 6th at New Bethlehem FWB Church with the Rev. Ashley Trogdon officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives from 5 to 6 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
