Lawrence Tobias

Lawrence LT Tobias, 78 of Monroe, passed away Sunday March 17 2024, just two days shy of his 79th birthday. He was born in Bridgeport and resided in Monroe for the past 40 years.
He was born to Irving and Doris (Levine) Tobias He graduated from Central high and went on to earn his Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from University of Bridgeport and later earning his Masters in Business from University of Connecticut. Larry was a dedicated & well respected employee and manager at Sikorsky Aviation for over 50 years starting at the age of 19 putting himself through college.
Larry had both the softest and largest heart, always reaching out to help his friends and colleagues in need with his dry sense of humor, even the past year during his illness he would crack jokes with his wonderful doctors and nurses. Their dedication and warm care was so appreciated and our family want to extend our gratitude to the Monroe Police and the Emergency Responders for providing supportive care to Larry while he faced many of his challenges.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Debbie Glassman Tobias, loving daughter, Shaina Tobias of Monroe, loving son, Justin Tobias and daughter in law Asanti Wickham-Tobias, Three Granddogs, Theo, Toby and Taavi of Dallas Georgia.
Brother-in-law Aaron Glassman and sister-in-law Ginnie Glassman of Trumbull, CT, sister-in-law Sheila Gleckman and her husband Robert Gleckman of Indiana, and by his loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, March 26 at 11 am at The Abraham L. Green and Son Funeral Home.
His memory will continue to inspire and bring warmth to those he touched.
