Lawrence Underhill

Lawrence Underhill, age 92, of Russellville, died Sunday, December 20, 2009, at his home. He was born July 31, 1917, at Russellville, to James and Susie Walker Underhill. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Peggy Jene Underhill; three brothers; and four sisters. Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Sybil Hopson Underhill; one daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Richard Berry of Russellville; one sister, Addie Bailey of Russellville; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at Shinn Chapel with the Rev. Tom Underhill and the Rev. Mark Evants officiating. Burial will be in Booher Cemetery at Russellville under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Underhill's caretakers, Betty Jones, Todd Patterson, and Betty Andrews. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time on Wednesday at the Chapel. The family would like to extend a very special "Thank You" to Royce and Phyllis Barnes, who have been close friends for over 20 years.
