Lawrence Williams Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carpino Funeral Home - Southbury on Feb. 27, 2026.
SOUTHBURY - Lawrence Williams, age 76, departed this life on February 25, 2026 at the Lutheran Home of Southbury. He was the beloved Husband of 43 years to his wife, Nancy.

Lawrence was born on September 18th 1949 in Bridgeport, CT to Catherine (Noonan) and Marshall Williams.

Larry was a devoted husband and father, a loyal friend, who found his greatest joy in simple, meaningful moments. He enjoyed hiking, skiing, camping, bird watching, and helping others. Larry especially enjoyed taking his dog, Callie, to the Southbury dog park, watching car races, and attending classic car shows. Larry was an avid NASCAR fan and a proud muscle car enthusiast.

Larry proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a member of the 4th infantry division during the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1970. In recognition of his courage and service, he was awarded multiple medals, a testament to his bravery, dedication, and sacrifice. After his military service, Larry earned his degree in Manufacturing Engineering at Waterbury State Technical College. He went on to work for many companies over the years, including as the East Coast Regional Sales Manager for Mikron, where he spent many years on business trips.

Larry was a member of the Southbury VFW Post 1607 having been a former commander, and The American Legion post 147. Larry selflessly dedicated his time to helping veterans and their families, volunteering as the regional representative for Soldiers, Sailors and Marines fund, as well as Patriots Pen and Voice of Democracy contest within the local schools.

Larry will be remembered for his sweet, gentle personality, love of family, his steady presence, and the way he cherished the people closest to him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His daughter, Lauren, devoted the last several years to caring for him through his decline, a reflection of the deep bond and love they shared.

He is survived by: his wife, Nancy (Peck) Williams; his sons, Lawrence (Lisa) Williams, Jr. and Peter (Sara) Williams; his daughter, Lauren (Daniel) Kupis; his sister, Patricia (Benjamin) Struski; his brothers, Daniel (Maureen) Williams, Roy (Lisa) Williams, and Mark Williams; his granddaughter, Courtney (Keith) Ebling; and great-granddaughter, Ella Ebling. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Alan.

A visitation will be held from 8:30 - 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Carpino Funeral Home, 750 Main Street South in Southbury, CT. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 PM at Christ Church Quaker Farms, 470 Quaker Farms Road in Oxford, CT. A luncheon reception will be held in the church hall after the service.

Memorial contributions in Larry's name can be directed to: VFW Post 1607, 150 Lee Farm Drive, Southbury, CT 06488.

The family would like to express profound gratitude to the staff at the Lutheran Home for treating Larry with dignity, warmth and genuine compassion. Throughout his decline, Larry never complained, facing each day with quiet strength and courage. He will be missed by so many. To leave a message of remembrance, please visit www.CarpinoCares.com.
