A visitation for Layne Eric Richardson, 67, will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana.
Layne was born on October 22, 1957, in Denver, Colorado to Bill Richardson and Joan Airey Richardson and passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025 in Shreveport.
Upon completing high school, Layne embarked on a journey through the Middle East, where he gained experience in the oil industry. Transitioning from his work in the oil fields, he ventured into garage door and gate operations, dedicating many years to the field before eventually founding his own company, Automatic Door and Gate of Shreveport.
Layne was an adventurous individual who embraced life with joy and enthusiasm. Whether he was skydiving, water skiing, mountain rappelling, or riding his motorcycle, each experience brought him fulfillment and excitement. His heart for animals and his role as a loving father and grandfather added a special depth to his adventurous nature.
Layne is preceded in death by his parents, Joan Airey Richardson and Bill Richardson. Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Amber Geesey and son-in-law, Brett of Lafayette, Louisiana; grandsons, Max, Parker, and Brayden Layne Geesey; sister, Laurie Ickes and brother-in-law, Jeff Ickes; and brother, Lauren Richardson.
Layne will be greatly missed but his family and friends will continue to love and cherish his memory.
