LeaNan “Nanny” Sparks, 61, of Pampa, passed away on January 28, 2026, at her home.
Memorial services will be 2:00 PM, Monday, February 2, 2026, at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Brother Kyle Collins, pastor at Cornerstone Baptist Church, officiating . An inurnment will follow at Memory Gardens Mausoleum under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
LeaNan was born on March 21, 1964, in Dallas to Jim and Jane Evrage. She spent her early childhood in Garland and then moved to Pampa when she was 14. She attended and finished school in Pampa. In her early years, she was a homemaker to her children, Chad and Shannon. LeaNan would meet the love of her life, Dwayne Sparks and they married on February 14, 1991. They shared almost 17 years together before his passing in 2008.
After the kids were raised, LeaNan worked in retail and convenience sales for places like Allsup’s, MiniMart, and Pak a Sak. LeaNan would find companionship again when she met Rick Duarte. She loved her chips & queso at the Plaza and always enjoyed making buttered rice for her family. LeaNan was a dog lover, particularly Boxers. She was an outgoing and spunky woman who was the life of the party, who loved all her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; stepfather, Kenneth Purvis; and a brother, Mark Evrage.
LeaNan is survived by her companion, Rick Duarte; son, Chad Clardy and wife Heather; daughter, Shannon Petty and husband Brett; grandchildren, K’Lee Lara and husband Xavier, Brailee Clardy, Colton McKinney, and Karlee Mitchell; greatgrandchild, Adaline; siblings, Shayne Hendrickson and wife Carmen, Cheryl Lynn Bowman, Kenya Harris and husband Brandon, and Kenny Purvis; several nieces and nephews and other extended family.
