Leander Porter, 61, of New Smyrna Beach, FL, passed away on Friday, November 14th, 2025. He was born on February 10th, 1964 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie Lee Carpenter and Martha Marie Porter.
Leander is survived by his wife, Mary (Davis) Porter of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, daughter Brandy May and grandson Brehysen May of Tuscaloosa Alabama, son Alfred Davis and grandsons Kalil Davis and Korohn Davis and son Edward Davis with grandsons Edward Davis Jr and God'son Davis, along with Bonus Son Nicholas Tinker of Tuscaloosa Alabama. In addition, Leander is also survived by his sister Charlene May Porter of Tuscaloosa, Alabama along with John L Harkness who is Leander's Stepfather. Leander also leaves behind a host of Nieces, Nephews, Aunts, Uncles and several other relatives of Tuscaloosa Alabama.
Leander graduated in 1982 from Tuscaloosa Alabama High School. During his lifetime, Leander served his country valiantly in the United States Army. Upon his honorable discharge, he worked in the technology repair field. He also was a Jack of All Trades by receiving income in several different professions. Most recently, Leander was a City Bus Driver for Votran of Daytona Beach for 12 years.
Leander met the Love of his life (Mary Porter) in 1991. They went on to get married 11 years later and will forever be linked with one another.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, November 22nd, 2025 at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home, New Smyrna Beach, Florida.
Funeral will start at Noon on Saturday, November 22nd, 2025 at Settle-Wilder Funeral Home, New Smyrna Beach, Florida.
Rites of Cremation will be performed after service with placement of ashes to be private at a later date.
