Leanne Louise (Long) Nance, age 81, of Hanover, Illinois, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2025 surrounded by her loving family at Kenosha Place Assisted Living, Kenosha, WI.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Law Jones Funeral Home in Hanover. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m., with burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Hanover.
Leanne was born on October 18, 1943, the daughter of the late Genevieve (Irwin) Long. She graduated from Hanover High School with the Class of 1963. She married Roy Gene "Shorty" Nance, and together they raised two sons, David and Thomas.
Leanne was a homemaker for much of her life, always putting her family first. She also worked at Joe's Tex-Mex restaurant, ran a cleaning business with her dear friend Carol Honerbaum, and later worked at the Hanover I.O.C.O. She was a member of the Hanover United Methodist Church and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and needlework. Her hands were always busy creating something beautiful for those she loved.
Leanne's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her sons, David (Valerie) Nance and Thomas (Julie) Nance; her grandchildren, Caitland (Thomas Halloran) Nance, Ashley (Alex Walsh) Aldrich, David (Amber) Nance, and Michael Nance; and one great-grandchild, Adalyn Nance.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Genevieve, her husband, Shorty, who passed away in 2013, and her grandson, Tyler, who passed away March 11, 2025.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at Kenosha Place Assisted Living Center and especially to Nurse's Aid, Amanda, for the care and compassion shown to Leanne.
May she rest in peace.
