Celebration of Life Services for Leasha Ledawn Red Bear, 44, of Eagle Butte, will be held from 10:00 AM-4:00 PM (MT), Friday, January 30, 2026, at the Eagle Butte Bingo Hall. Leasha passed away, Monday, January 26, 2026, at IHS Hospital in Eagle Butte. Arrangements are pending with Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge.

Eagle Butte, South Dakota. She will be remembered for her bright smile, caring nature, and the many lives she touched throughout her journey.
Family and Early Life
Born to Rolanda Red Bear on September 9, 1981, Leasha came into the world facing medical challenges, including a heart condition. Her maternal grandmother, Loretta Red Bear, was a guiding figure in her early life. Due to Rolanda's health, Leasha was lovingly adopted by the Buller family and raised in Wyoming alongside her brothers and sisters, with her adopted name becoming Sara Buller.
Finding Her Roots
At 17, Leasha "Sara" made the courageous decision to move back to Eagle Butte in hopes of reconnecting with her biological family. During her stay with the Red Bear family, she formed meaningful relationships with her grandmother, mother, and siblings. Leasha was one of 11 siblings; she mourned the passing of her sister Angela at birth and cherished her connections with Michael Yates (her oldest brother), Terrance Handboy, Toni Handboy, Buffy Handboy, Kimberly Roberts, Brittney Roberts, Kyle Traversie, Brandon Red Bear, and Lance Red Bear. Over time, she deepened her bond with each family member.
Connections and Community
Leasha "Sara" built a rich network of friends in the Rapid City area, always described as someone who brought joy and comfort to those around her. She shared a special friendship with Marlene Greene, and together with friends, they watched out for each other as they traveled the city's streets. Leasha's kindness, sense of humor, and protective spirit made everyone feel safe and valued. No matter the challenges she faced, she was known for making the best of every day.
Her Legacy and Final Days
Leasha "Sara" faced ongoing health issues and was scheduled for heart surgery, but her medical complications ultimately led to her passing. Throughout her time at Monument Health Hospital, she brought laughter and warmth to those around her, always joking and lifting the spirits of both staff and fellow patients.
Heartfelt Thanks
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to all relatives who reached out, as well as to the hospital staff for their dedicated care. Special thanks go to Monument Health, behavioral health management, and Woyaton Church, OLO in Rapid City-places that held special meaning for Leasha during her visits. She traveled many miles on foot throughout the city, leaving footprints of kindness wherever she went. Now, she walks among the angels, making her footprints in heaven.

Leasha "Sara" Red Bear Buller will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege to know her. Her bright personality and loving spirit will live on in the memories she created and the hearts she touched. Rest in peace, Leasha "Sara."
