Leaupepe Lilo Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Legacy Funeral Home-Heritage Chapel at Angelus on Jan. 26, 2026.
Leaupepe Talitiga Lilomaiava Lilo was embraced in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 27, 2025. Talitiga was born on December 26, 1961, in Foaluga, Savai'i, to the late Leuluaiali'i Popole Mapuilesua and Magalogalo Fa'aopega Lilomaiava.

Talitiga was known for his humility and for truly living up to the Samoan meaning of his name, "E tali uma e 'ia tiga." No matter what he endured or how others may have mistreated him, he never let the pain show-he always answered with a smile. He retired as a truck driver and took great pride in helping those in need.

In August of 2023, he moved to Alaska and made it his home to be closer to his children and extended family. Yet his heart remained buried with our mom in American Samoa, and it was there that he wished to be laid to rest. Talitiga believed in our God, Jesus Christ, and devoted his life to His word, which strengthened his spiritual journey.

Talitiga was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maria Koreta Nee Vito- Lilo; their son, born sleeping, Pasia; their great-grandson, Tamali'i; his grandparents, Lilo and Malae; and his father, Leuluaiali'i.

He is survived by his children: Lafaele and Shirrona Vito; Talitiga and Maria Lilomaiava; Savelio and Fetuiai Lilomaiava; Roy and Panapasi Lilomaiava; Lisa and David Wulf; Antonina and Fa'afotututupu Fano. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren: Prince, Ailini, Shirrona, Sheridan, Sharryah, Eddy, Antonina, Tasiana, Johanna, Penitila, Talitiga "TJ," Presley "LJ," Ramesses, Elijah, Roy-J, Anton, Jebediah, Jericho, Melisandra, Paisley, Marilyn, Tama'ita'iolemaota, Isitolo, Iolanee, and Praise; his adored great-grandchild, Inoke; His loving mum, Magalogalo Fa'aopega, and his siblings, Tai, Sione, Mapesone, Fa'aifo, Apineru, Popole, and So'ofa.

A celebration of life and final Mass will be held on January 12, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Benedict's Catholic Church. Family and friends are welcome to celebrate our papa's final day.

Tofa papa, moe ma Iesu.
