Lee Allen Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Greene Funeral Home - Northwest Chapel on Jan. 27, 2026.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lee (Mac) A. Allen, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Mac, born and raised in Aynor, SC, was the seventh son born to Luttie and Archie Allen. Raised in a God-fearing family on a tobacco farm, he embraced the values of community and faith from an early age.

Mac later relocated to Rock Hill, SC, where he embarked on a career in telecommunications and land development. In 1972, he married, Patricia Koon. Together, they proudly raised three daughters: Dr. Kerrie Allen Ammons (Gregory Ammons, Esquire) of Columbia, SC, Mrs. Melissa Allen Gladden (Mr. Robert Bryan Gladden) of Rock Hill, SC, and Dr. Jenna Allen Vaughn (Dr. Robert Vaughn) of Bluffton, SC.

In addition to his wife and children, Mac is survived by his eight grandchildren: Hannah Kate Ammons, Lillian Ammons, Briggs Gladden, Samuel Gladden, Lincoln Gladden, Olivia Vaughn, Eleanor Vaughn, and William Vaughn. Each grandchild held a special place in his heart, and he took immense joy in watching them grow. He is also survived by his brother, Larry (Betty) Allen of Conway, SC, and was predeceased by six brothers: Wilbert, Eugene, Horace, Randy, Linwood, and Charles Allen.

Mac had a passion for many things, including the South Carolina coast, antique cars, and oyster roasts. He loved sharing stories during long chats on the front porch and had a gift for making any gathering enjoyable with his infectious laughter and warm spirit.

Above all, Mac loved Jesus. His faith was a guiding light throughout his life, and his legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Mac was a devoted father who cherished his girls and often reminded them, "Don't get yes and no mixed up."

The family will receive friends on Wednesday January 28, 2026, from 5:00pm to 6:30pm at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC. The family invites all who knew him to join in honoring his memory and the impact he made on our lives.

A funeral service to remember Mac's life will be held at 12:30pm on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Lakewood Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Park, 620 South Cherry Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.

Memorials can be made to the Lakewood Baptist Church Building Program, 3520 Mt Gallant Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
