Lee Boone Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Perches - Graham's Funeral Home (La Paz - Graham's Funeral Home) on Apr. 5, 2023.
Lee Daniel Boone, "The Guy in the Sky", went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday morning, April 1, 2023. Lee passed in a way that only he would have understood and wanted, and even though our hearts are grieving, Lee had always said that when he left this earth he wanted to leave it flying.
Lee was a virtual jack of all trades and a master of all. He had a genuine joie de vivre. He loved adventure in all its forms, from bronc riding, bull riding, boating, sailing, and autocross racing. There was no challenge that he was not up to. He would spend countless hours researching his passions for fixing up older cars, customizing his van – the Blu Ciel Flying Circus - and building and flying radio-controlled airplanes. Above all, he loved flying anything that could lift him off the ground and into the clouds, whether airplane, hang glider, paraglider, paramotor or trike. He was a master of the air and knew it intimately. It was his overriding passion and he was well known in the flying community, locally, nationally and internationally, even having a launch site in the Franklin Mountains named after him, "Lee's Lookout"
Lee was well-known in the real estate community as an accomplished investor, broker, and appraiser. People with whom he came in contact would say about him that he lived his business life like he lived his personal life – with integrity, honesty, compassion, and love. He would give you the shirt off his back.
Lee was born in New Orleans to Lawrence D. Boone and Gail Boudreaux Boone on July 3, 1980. He was raised in El Paso and graduated from Coronado High School. Lee was a loving husband and father. He married the love of his life, Erika Boone, and together they were blessed with two daughters, Talullah Blu and Scout Ciel. Lee loved the Lord with all his heart and soul, and he wanted nothing more than the opportunity to share that love and joy with everyone he met.
Lee is survived by his wife, Erika Boone, daughters Talullah and Scout, parents Lawrence and Gail Boone, sister Dawn Kliebert (James Lemaster), niece Haley Jabali, as well as his wife's family, parents Buhrmann and Nydia Gilbert, sister-in-law Vanessa Francikowski (Jeff Vaughn), nephews Kayden and Jett Francikowski, and niece, Ariel Kachele.
Services will be held Monday, April 10, at 12 PM at La Paz Faith Center, 1201 N. Piedras St., El Paso, Texas 79930, Pastor Steve Norman officiating. A procession will follow immediately after to Restlawn Cemetery, 4848 Alps Dr., El Paso, Texas 79904.

My condolences to the family of Lee Boone. I have fond memories of him. He lived in the same cul de sac as my parents. He always found time to come over and visit and he always had that big smile on his face. He made my parents laugh. This picture tells it all. He will be missed!
