Lee Allen Leppien

Lee Allen Leppien of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved father, grandfather, uncle, and friend passed away peacefully on his birthday at Samaritas Senior Living of Saginaw. He was 87 years old. Lee Allen Leppien was born on April 22, 1935, in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Richard and Dorothy (Wetzel) Leppien. He was a proud graduate of Saginaw High School. Following graduation, Lee began working as an electrician for several companies. Upon successfully earning and receiving his journeyman's card as an electrician, Lee began a 31-year career with General Motors Plant 2. He was a longtime and faithful member of Grace and Faith Lutheran Church. Lee also was a member of the U.S. Power Squadron, Coast Guard Auxiliary, US Navy Sea Cadets, and a DNR instructor with the State of Michigan. As a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, he took part in many active search and rescue missions and taught many boating safety classes over the years. Above all, Lee loved and cherished his family with boating a close second.
Surviving are three daughters and their spouses: Leslie E. (John) Soyster of Saginaw; Laura J. Crandall, M.D., of New York City, NY; Lyn A. (David) Roberts of Sunderland, MA; five grandchildren: Mackenzie (Amelia) Crandall, Whitney Carver, Sterling Crandall, Benjamin Roberts, and Abigail Roberts; sister-in-law: Patsy Leppien. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Bruce (Irene) Leppien, Robert (Marge) Leppien and Richard "RJ" Leppien; sister, Lois (James) Melville.
A funeral service will take place at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4432 Mackinaw Road. Rev. John Soyster will officiate with a reception to follow. Entombment will take place at 3:00 p.m. at Oakwood Mausoleum. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the church on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at noon.
