Mr. Lee O. Mosher, 72, a lifelong resident of East Herkimer, passed away peacefully at his family home on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. He was surrounded by his loved ones and comforted by their unwavering love and support and by his strong faith.
Lee was born on April 14, 1953, in Herkimer, the son of the late Zane and Elizabeth (Kogut) Mosher. He was raised and educated in Herkimer and proudly graduated from Herkimer High School. Though physical challenges limited his ability to pursue a traditional career, Lee possessed remarkable skill in furniture restoration. He took great pride in bringing fine pieces back to life, a talent that reflected his patience and attention to detail. Music was another of Lee’s passions, and he especially enjoyed spending time strumming his guitar.
Lee is survived by his sister, Carleen Taylor and her husband Jeff of South Trenton, NY, his brothers, Russell Mosher of East Herkimer, and Daryl Mosher and his wife Judy of Oppenheim, NY. He also leaves behind his cherished nieces and nephews: Richard Herron(Charissa) Theresa Kluge (Tim), Sulee Taylor, Matthew Mosher, and Michael Mosher, as well as his beloved great-nieces and great-nephews: Kylah Black(Lance), Richard III(Hanna), Laina, Gabby, Ashton, Tenley, Elijah, Grace, Kieran, Carter, Cade, Cailen, Aubrey, and Abygail: great-great nephew Clayton.
Lee had a natural warmth and charisma that drew people to him. He made friends easily and maintained many close, lifelong friendships—relationships that stand as an enduring part of the legacy he leaves behind. In addition to his parents, Lee was predeceased by his nephew, Caleb, and his great-nephew, Isaac.
The family would also like to thank the staff of Hospice and Palliative Care, for their care shown to Lee and his family, especially Angela and Ann.
In keeping with Lee’s wishes, there will be no formal services at this time. The family has entrusted his care to Fenner Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Court Street, Herkimer, NY 13350.
