Lee John Oelka, age 84, of New Johnsonville, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at is home with his loving family by his side. Mr. Oelka was born November 14, 1939, in Monroe, Michigan, to Lee John and Dorothy Mae Bell Oelka. He was a retired veteran of the United States Navy, after serving his country for 20 years, 1 month, and 19 days. During his Navy career, he traveled all over the world. He completed Submarine School, Torpedoman School, and Nuclear Weapon School. After his Navy retirement, he was a Boat Pilot for over 15 years and he was also a Security Guard at Inland Container Corporation in New Johnsonville, Tennessee. Lee was a Master Mason and a 50+ years member of Caldwell Lodge #273 in New Johnsonville, Tennessee and George Hillman Lodge #431 in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee. Lee loved hunting, fishing, woodworking, taxidermy, and everything outdoors. He cherished his precious family and spending time with them and his friends.
Visitation: will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, October 28, 2024, and from 9:00 a.m. until funeral service time, Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Humphreys County Funeral Home.
Masonic Service: will be held at 7:00 p.m., Monday, October 28, 2024, at Humphreys County Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 29, 2024, in the Humphreys County Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. William Brown officiating.
Interment With Full Military Honors: will follow at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery at Parkers Crossroads, 693 Wildersville Road, Wildersville, Tennessee.
